About Us

Who Are We?

Good question, I often ask myself that. But joking aside, my name is Rosemary and I am based in Brisbane, Queensland Australia. I worked for the public sector for some 30yrs, have an extensive business background, developed and ran training programs to educate the not so saavy about using the internet, did a lot of public speaking, and co-ordinated various teams & projects.

I moved into the private sector in 2002 and spent 12months in the UK advising and training staff in customer service and promotions for a company with over 3000 clients ranging over several continents. You need to be good at time management to control that one.

Balancing rockOn returning to Australia decided I needed a new challenge and focused on building up Narooma Online Designs a small but specialised web design business that I had started as a hobby and indulging my passion for graphics back in 1999. The focus was on developing a range of small business, commercial and personal website solutions. During this time I developed an ongoing love affair for building Joomla websites which is still as strong today. OK I admit it I am addicted to them, but hey they are pretty impressive sites.

Last year a Brisbane company  offered me a contract with yearly retainer, so relocated my client base to another reputable firm and moved to sunny Queensland. A year later the company has changed management, contracts were cancelled and mine was one of them. Now we come to choices I don't have the contacts in Brisbane to re-build up my web design company and realistically it was pretty demanding time wise so not being sure that was the road I wanted to revisit I looked for other options. Bit like the rock in the picture, whichever way I went I would get my feet wet.

Internet marketing had fascinated me for a while so I decided to give it a go, and intelligent though I might consider myself I still made all the costly mistakes and got sucked into the hype. But being a very analytical person by nature I eventually stepped back and looked at what I was doing objectively. That's when the sense of reason kicked in, yes there was money to be made in affiliate marketing, but not this instant millionaire stuff, it was like any other job it needed research, work planning and application. Once you start to apply those principles it starts to work and pay.

Why did I build this website?

Well initially I needed a vehicle for some of my own marketing efforts, and after all websites are what I know, but I didn't want one of those hyped up, or really boring information sites, so I decided on a resource site. My mindset being that if I could make this site interesting and useful enough it might attract like minded people who would like to contribute and build up a small informed community of our own. I know others have had experiences like mine and generally the more informed one can be on a topic sharing that helps toward making better choices and decisions.
